Hello there! My name is Bennett (aka Benny). I am a 5 year old Shih-tzu and I only weigh in at 9 pounds! I probably should be about 10-11 though. See, I was found wandering the streets all by myself so I am a little skinnier than I should be. The kind folks at Animal Control picked me up and found a great rescue called NBS to hold me while we looked for my family. All of us were really shocked when my family never came looking for me! But these kind people from the rescue said that they would help me people to love me and take care of me for the rest of my life now. Phew!!!
I am a sweet and mellow little boy. I get along withe people, kids, babies, other dogs and cats. My foster Mom says I am just the sweetest little boy ever! And I agree. I can be a little shy at first...I am just a little bit nervous before I know where I am. But once I get to know you, I hold my tail up proudly and prance around my house!
Because I wasn't neutered previously in my life, I will need someone who helps work with my potty training. I mark in new surroundings at first and am learning about this whole potty training thing. BUT, I promise I will love you forever if you help teach me some things. I don't appear to know any commands but I would love to have someone teach me things. I am a good boy in my crate. I will bark for 5-10 minutes at first but then I settle right in.
I love to play with stuffed animals. I enjoy walks and I walk beautifully on a leash. Actually, I am quite confident on a leash. I will strut my stuff down Main Street if you want to show me off! I also ride really good in the car. I am overall a joy to have around. What do you think?! Ready to adopt me yet?!?
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.
