Smitty's Story...
Smitty is a gorgeous young kitty that makes his foster family laugh everyday! He is playful and independent, but when the purrs start he doesn't want them to stop! He has a soft, unique coat and lots of personality to boot. Smitty needs a little extra attention as he's had a rough go of it the first few months of his life and can get anxious and a bit scared. He loves to be pet his foster parents & 10 year old sister, and loves to rub up against the family's pit bull. If you would like to learn more about Smitty, contact poundpetsinc@gmail.com. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smitty, a Jerseyville American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Jerseyville, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Jerseyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jerseyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jerseyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jerseyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
