O'Reilly is a sweet loving male Heart Stealer! He is looking for a new home due to his owner's illness. O'Reilly, a Brussels Griffon, is easy as Sunday morning, as Griffs go. He loves every man, woman, and beast he has met, dogs and cats alike. O'Reilly has only known love in his life and he is ready to find his forever home and give some love right back! So be prepared to share your lap and your bed - Then, prepare to be smitten!

At first, O'Reilly was worried about losing his home and his new surroundings. Once he settled into his foster home, his house training has been reliable and his generous loving heart has been constant. Given a week or so to get used to his new home and routine, he will be the best friend you ever had and beg for your attention.

O'Reilly is looking for that special person who will take care of his special needs. He has been diagnosed with a grade 3 heart murmur that will eventually lead into congestive heart failure. His recent blood tests are revealing a lack of healthy kidney function. He is on a balance of medication that will help his heart, with those that won't exacerbate his kidney problem. He will need ongoing routine blood tests and occasional fluids. Monthly visits to the vet should be expected and planned for. For these reasons, O'Reilly will only be considered for adopters who live within close driving distance to his foster home.

O'Reilly is only 6 years old and weighs 11 pounds. Due to his small size, we would like to find a home with only small pet companions. O'Reilly loves everyone and children over the age of 12 years old are preferred. A fenced yard will be given preference, and O"Reilly will use a doggy door. He is also crate trained. O'Reilly's focus will be spending time with his new person/s. As with most Griffons, he craves attention and will want to be with you most of time. He will be happiest with someone who works from home, can take him to work with them, or is retired.

O'Reilly has been updated on vaccinations and given a dental. He is neutered and microchipped. A high quality grain free measured diet & treats will keep O'Reilly to proper weight, active, and healthy.

O'Reilly is being fostered near Surprise, AZ. and we prefer to place him within driving distance. Our rescued dogs may never be shipped in cargo and we do not transport them to adoptive homes. If approved to a home outside of the immediate area where he is fostered, he must be picked up by car or flown in the cabin of the plane with you. ABGRA does not re-home rescued Griffs or Affens into homes with young children or homes with invisible (electric fencing). Adopters over the age of 25 years old and homes with securely fenced yards are given preference. Doggy doors to a securely fenced area are OK as long as they are locked at night and when you are gone.

About American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance Inc.- AZ

About Our Rescue Group...

ABGRA (American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance) & AAR (American Affenpinscher Rescue) is a non-profit national rescue group founded to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Brussels Griffons and Affenpinschers. We strive to leave no Griff or Affen behind and rescue these breeds from commercial breeding facilities and city/county shelters when foster home space is available. We also accept owner surrendered Griffs and Affens. We are an all foster home based rescue that provides complete vetting for our dogs prior to adoption.

American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance Inc. (ABGRA) and American Affenpinscher Rescue (AAR) came into being to meet the needs of the Brussels Griffons and Affenpinschers who are abandoned, might be abandoned, or whose circumstances we can improve.
We are especially mindful of the Griffs and Affens that have spent their lives in commercial breeding facilities and who will have a chance at a better life through our efforts. We also rescue both breeds from animal shelters and accept owner surrendered Griffs and Affens.
ABGRA, & our subsidiary AAR, is a non-profit national rescue group.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All adoptions go through our website-
We do not have a kennel facility and place all of our Griffons and Affens by application. All of our rescued dogs are living in foster homes where public viewing is not possible.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption donations are from $200 - $350 and reflect the vetting costs incured for each dog as well as some dogs whose costs far exceed the donation.
We interview all references provided and require a home visit before placements. An adoption contract is required. If the dog is returned within 30 days, a refund will be issued. ABGRA requires adopters be 25 years old, or older, and are looking for stable permanent adoptors. In most cases, these breeds are not recommened for families with young children or for people who are not home for long periods of time. They are the perfect pet for someone who can take their dog to work with them, work from home, or are retired.
