Huck's Story...
~ Adoption Fee Applies~
My name is Huck!
My lovely family kindly dumped me at the pound at 7 years old with the worst ear infection EVER, I was in so very much pain! Thankfully a very kind women came ot get me, she took me to her shelter and she took me to the vet, she got me the medication I needed to get better and then when the time was right for me to move on she contact CAA Rescue and that is where my story begins!

I am a super awesome handsome dude!
I do live with other dogs in foster care but when I was at the shelter I was tested with cats I was just a weeee bit TOO interested in them so I would guess that a home with no cats would be ideal for me. Remember the flat coat retriever in me is a hunting style dog so chasing small prey is just my job!
I would also prefer a home with children over the age of 16 years old or ideally none. See I am very super uber duper friendly with people but the experience of the past infection in my ears left me in a very sensitive state… it was really just that painful so now when people touch my ears they have to be careful because I get scared right away always remembering that pain. I am slowly getting over this and forgetting thanks to the gentle touch of my foster mama but it will take the time and patience that it takes. For that reason alone I worry that by mistake a child may very innocently touch me in an old ouchie spot and I would hate to ever, ever hurt anyone by accident so my foster mama says better safe than sorry! Also I am a huge 70 lbs goofball! I can easily turn around and knock a little one down unknowingly and unintentionally; it will only be an accident but again hurting people is just not in my make up !
I do not need to be yelled at or spoken to harshly for obedience, see I am a very sensitive man and my feelings can easily get hurt …… and who on EARTH would wanna make this bubba sad? So working with me with treats and positive reinforcement style techniques will go a super long way. I attach to people very quickly; I LOVE people and just always want to be with them. I need special kind people who just always want to be with me

I do love to walk! So if you love walking we definitely have something in common but I do need more work on the leash training
If you like to lazzzzzzzzzze on the couch eating potatoes all day every day then I am probably not your ideal doggie but ask CAA Rescue about Brady or Chelsea they are pretty laid back doggies! While I have no problems snoozing the afternoon away on the couch with you I still need to get out for my daily exercise and walks… again that retriever in me likes to lounge around as much as we like to be out and on the go!
I am at a perfect age where finally all the hyperness of puppydom has left me and just a pure and perfect adult now but don't think I am some tired and lazy man! I am not I am pure JOY and HAPPINESS! I energy can fill up a room quickly. I am a special, special man looking for extrodianry people
I am smart as a whip! And can quickly figure out where the treat jar is in any home
We have yet to see what kind of trouble I get into when let alone
Please email if you would like to meet me, they will ask you to complete an adoption application and then make arrangements for us to meet with my foster mummy to see if we really always were meant to be together

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Huck, a Pierrefonds Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Pierrefonds, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Pierrefonds.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pierrefonds already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pierrefonds breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pierrefonds paves the way for another one to be saved.
