ARTIE's Story...
My name is Artie. I don’t know what my first name was because I was picked up as a stray in Tennessee and no one claimed me. My foster mom thinks I am AWESOME because I am a small 20 pound Beagle, about 7 to 8 years old, and I survived on my own as a stray before being taken to the shelter. And, you can imagine what life in the shelter was like . . . and I still survived. Because I was so frightened at the shelter, I was not even going to be put into adoption after my stray hold was up – but Critter Cavalry came to my rescue! My foster mom came and took me home. I was a little shy at first, but then I relaxed and began to enjoy life again. I am crate trained and housetrained. I get along with all of the other dogs here, but I prefer to hang out with the older, more quiet ones. What I really would like is a home where I can just relax and be a couch potato. You know, live out my life being loved and appreciated for the cute little guy I am. I would love someone to cuddle me and let me sit on their lap. I ride pretty well in the car, too. Maybe you could get me one of those booster seats so I could look out of the window. I know I will be the perfect fit for someone out there. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Why Adoption is a Great Option

ARTIE, a Salem Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Salem, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
