My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Born on 7/29/14, Maxwell is a young, handsome German Shepherd. Background: He was bought as a puppy and was given no socialization, training or structure, therefore we have evaluated that he is to be with NO OTHER DOGS/ANIMALS and NO SMALL CHILDREN. His ideal situation would be a quiet residential area with someone who has German Shepherd experience. He needs someone who will be patient and put in the work needed to help him transform to become the loving, loyal and obedient pet he was meant to be. He is young and very sweet in nature, loves to play in the water, and we know that he will thrive in the right home.

We really appreciate your wanting to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We offer FREE Vet care for the first 3 weeks after adoption. We also have a great adoption matchmaker who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. Please feel free to submit your application!
