Mattie Maltshop's Story...
Pull up a stool and say hello to Miss Mattie Maltshop! Mattie became a DREAM Dachsie as part of the ten Dachshund "Grease Gang" that were surrendered by their breeder in early April. This 10 year old, frosty-faced, red sable longhaired beauty is going to make some lucky adopter an incredible companion. She has some skin issues and dental work that we are getting taken care of, but on your checklist of "Dachshund awesome-ness," you can mark off that this very little lady radiates charm, she is ultra calm and low key, all the other dogs adore her and she just waltzes through any room she enters! She is completely house trained plus, she never barks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mattie Maltshop, a Houston Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
