Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Nugget, an approximately 9 month old American Bulldog/Sharpei mix. She's on the smaller size at around 40 lb. Nugget was a stray in DeKalb county until she wound up on the back porch of a farm. The house owners were so frightened of her appearance that they didnât want to touch her. All poor Nugget wanted was affection, instead she went to Animal Control where she was scheduled to be euthanized for a treatable condition!
Nugget had what is called puppy mange. It causes hair loss and makes her look naked, scaly and red.
Nugget has recovered nicely from spay surgery and puppy mange. Her fur has started growing back!
With typical puppy energy, Nugget can race up and down stairs and loves to play with other dogs. She rides well in the car, is also very food motivated, learned Sit very quickly and gets jealous when her human pays attention to other dogs. Nugget really prefers attention from people, even trying to snuggle and be your lap dog, tho she is close to 50 lbs now. She has started to learn that a leash means fun times are coming, so she dances around in excitement even grabbing part of the leash in her mouth to get you to hurry.
Nugget is at about 95% house trained and would benefit from a puppy class as she is very mouthy. Cats are still an unknown. She is spayed and up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations. She is also micro chipped, which is included in her adoption fee of $200. If you have room in your family for sweet Nugget, please contact Margrit at 630.820.1584.
