My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Max. I am an approximately 4.5 year old Skye Terrier mix. Anyone got a belly rub for me? I love to have my jelly belly rubbed! I know I'm still hanging on to my winter weight :-) You see, my previous Mommy had Alzheimers, so we shared all of our meals. It was great, except for my figure. I currently weigh around 20lbs, and would be happier at 15. When my Mom had to be put in an assisted care facility, these great folks at NBS Animal Rescue agreed to take me in and help me make a transition to a new furever home. I'm enjoying regular doggie kibble now, longer and longer walks each week, and I love my stuffed animals. I am a gentleman with other dogs and have also been around cats. I would love to have a new family to live with and keep company. I am learning about crate training and doing very good with it. When I first move, I do tend to try to mark my territory a couple times... but a quick reminder is all I need and I will take all that business outside. My ideal home would have someone home most of the time, where I don't spend more than 4-6 hours alone, someone who loves to give belly rubs and hang out on the couch, has a good supply of stuffed animals to chew on, and really likes to walk. I have discovered that I really like walking! I'm happy with or without another furry companion in a home. In my pictures, you can see what I looked like with my coat grown out, but I am currently shaved down to a puppy cut.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
