Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Shaggy is a very sweet Old English Sheepdog. He was picked up as a stray and was taken to the Austin shelter. He was filthy and smelled like urine. His coat was matted to the skin. It was obvious that whoever had him did not give him the care he needed.
Cleaning shaggy was only the first step in getting him the help he needed. We took him to Dirty Dog Grooming and they did a great job cleaning him up. Unfortunately his coat was so nasty, all had to be shaved down. But that is ok, because it will grow back.
Once Shaggy was all cleaned up we took him to Central TX Specialty Hospital for an exam, because it was obvious that something was wrong with his hind legs and hips. After doing x-rays it was determined that Shaggy has Hip Dysplasia. He will need FHO surgery on both hips. We are seeking donations to help with Shaggy's surgery.
