Here's what the humans have to say about me:
BRUCE is a 1 year old spayed black male Lab who weighs 48 pounds. Bruce is a friendly boy. Even though he is a young Lab, he doesn’t seem to be too energetic. Bruce seems fine with other dogs, because he had other dogs on both sides of him at the shelter with only chain links between them. From transporter: Bruce rode fine and was quiet for the trip to the vet. He was just a little hesitant to get in my truck at first, so he may need a little help when getting into vehicles. Bruce was a stray to the shelter, but no one ever came looking for him. He is approved for kids 10+.
Update (5/4); Bruce is doing great! He is a happy, sweet boy and just looking for a family to love him so that he can love right back! He just wants to please, then pull the stuffing out of a few toys, and then please you again! A few belly rubs will fit in nicely. Bruce is learning the "sit" command and getting pretty good at it. He will need someone to work with him and train, but thus far is responsive. On our walks he has interacted with other dogs well. During a play date yesterday he played very well with another lab. We took a walk down by the Bay Ridge beach this afternoon and I don't think he has ever been in the water. He watched in awe as he saw other labs retrieve tennis balls out of the water, but seemed a bit scared to enter in. So, I didn't push him. After a long walk this evening, he has crashed nicely in his crate for the evening.
Update (4/21): Bruce is a sweet, happy, boy and has been settling in since Friday evening. He is super friendly and follows his foster from room to room. At one year of age, he is naturally a chewer, so all shoes are stashed away and the peanut butter filled Kong is now his focus. He hasn't destroyed a Kong or toy. He has been introduced to other labs and interacts well. Bruce is easy on the lead and doesn't pull. Yet, he has tons of energy for a two mile run and would likely run much further. He settles down nicely when taken inside. And, he doesn't shed much, even though it is Spring time. He is crate trained and house trained. He traveled beautifully (crated) in the car. He took a walk in downtown Annapolis this weekend and he seems to "adjust" to new noises.
