JEN's Story...
✰✰ JEN, Two years young, just 25 lbs & AVAILABLE – For more photos of JEN please click http://norcalbcrescue.org/jen.html ✰✰

JEN is a darling two year old female border collie. She is tiny, weighing only 25 lbs. JEN is a smooth coated, classically and beautifully marked, little girl. JEN was an excellent mom to the seven Black and White Ball puppies recently fostered here at NCBCRA. The puppies were all adopted last month and so now it's JEN's turn to find her forever home.

JEN has been an outstanding guest at her foster home. She is housebroken and has not chewed on inappropriate items (though she really likes deer antler chew treats!) She is not a digger and she has rarely barked. She crates very nicely and is quiet in her crate for sleeping in overnight. While she moves rather coyly about the house, JEN is actually very agile. She surprised the dickens out of her foster mom one day when she jumped up onto a table, much like a cat. She is thus small, but springy! Speaking of cats, JEN shows no interest in the cats at her foster home.

JEN is a shy girl with people and needs to find a home where her owner will build her confidence and take time to encourage her participation with people. JEN is attentive to her foster parents and when we are settled in and with no commotion about she will come in close for a nice petting. Generally though, she’s not inclined to seek attention from us and may trot off a bit when we get up and move about. JEN is more quickly at ease with her canine pack mates, doing the regular dog sniffing thing and seemingly relaxed with others dogs about.

All in all, Jen is a sweet little girl who will do best if her new owner will take time to build her trust. It’s evident she wants to relate to her people as she enjoys the love and closeness of being petted and snuggled. We anticipate she will however present an initial challenge to her new owner to establish this bond. Patience by her new owner will pay off handsomely in the form of a loyal and loving companion. (PS - JEN loves to ride in the car so she may be a great traveling companion as well.)

JEN is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about JEN, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. JEN is being fostered in Loomis in Placer County, California.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

JEN, a Corning Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Corning, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Corning.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Corning already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Corning breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Corning paves the way for another one to be saved.
