Hi! My name is Vader. I had a family when I was a puppy, but they had to give me up when their landlord told them I couldn’t stay. They were so upset that they left me in a crate in front of an adoption center when I was only 7 months old. I don’t understand why they had to leave me because I’m a very sweet boy. I love to run and play but I also love to curl up with people and just be loved. If you are looking for a dog to do training with, I’m definitely your guy. I learn very quickly and listen very well. If you are a young person with a lot of energy and you don’t have cats at home, you should come see me and find out if I’m the friend you’ve been looking for.

About Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic and Ranch

About Our Shelter...

The Humane Society of Greater Jupiter/Tequesta d/b/a Furry Friends was founded in 1985 and was the second humane organization in the state of Florida to open a low-cost spay / neuter hospital. With between 7-10 million animals a year being killed in our nation’s shelters, Furry Friend's mission first and foremost has always been to reduce the over population of unwanted pets in our community. We do not believe that euthanasia is the answer to dealing with the pet over population crisis. Our charitable hospital offers low-cost spay / neuter services. We have sterilized over 75,000 animals over the past 24 years, preventing hundreds of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born and thousands more from being needlessly destroyed.

A few years after establishing the charitable hospital, Furry Friends opened one of the only true no-kill shelters in South Florida. The shelter reserves it’s space for animals who have been abused, neglected, injured and abandoned. We are a charity surviving on donations alone, and our capacity is limited. For the welfare of the resident animals, we cannot exceed our capacity. Cages are not vacated by routine euthanasia. They become available only through adoption.
