My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Northern California Weimaraner Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Please visit www.norcalweimrescue.org to fill out our online Adoption Application

Bailey, 9 y/o female Weimaraner. This sweet girl is in need of a loving forever home. Before being surrendered to NCWR, she was in the same home she grew up in. But after a divorce, she got lost in the shuffle and her people gave up on her. You have to see her video to see how pretty and well behaved she is! Bailey enjoys being around other dogs everywhere but in her own home. She is protective of whatever love might come her way; per her prior owner, she was not like this until more recently, but we gather she had not had much attention for a very long time. So, rather than force her into a situation in which she is uncomfortable, we are in search of a home with no dogs and plenty of TLC for Bailey. She is devoted to her people and very well behaved! Bailey likes going to the dog park to run, play and greet other dogs, and she REALLY likes going to the beach! Bailey is a sun & sand girl (if she could wear flip flops, she probably would!) Bailey is in very good shape and is quite agile. She has a natural prey drive, so she should not live with cats. Her "signature" ears are a kinda funny looking, yes, but it makes her special. Unfortunately, her unusual ears must be keeping people from considering her as she has been with us for some time. She has been boarded for months and she is just too special to find herself there! Her ears look like they do because sometimes dogs with long, floppy ears shake them so very hard, blood vessels rupture and cause a hematoma. There are ways to protect them during the healing, and even surgery is sometimes the best alternative, but for whatever reason, neither happened and Bailey's ears healed on their own and give her a “George Washington” look. The good news is, once a dog has had an ear hematomas, they will not happen again. Bailey has a lot of spirit and would warm your heart with her love. She is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, knows basic commands, is spayed and up to date on vaccines. IMMEDIATE FOSTER HOME NEEDED! If you would like to FOSTER or ADOPT Bailey, please fill out a APPLICATION. Her fee is $100.
