Sweet Afton's Info...
I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with dogs, and good with cats.
Sweet Afton's Story...
Sweet Afton is a 2.5 year old purebred tri color female Border Collie. Twenty-five pounds soaking wet, she is the sweetest little dog imaginable.
Sweet Afton is just that, sweet. Afton came to us from a shelter who acquired her from a breeder. It is obvious from her size that the breeder was experimenting to develop a Mini Border Collie. Afton is just a little bit of a dog, but has no idea that she is about 1/4 the size of most Borders. At first glance one thinks that she is just a puppy.
She has been in her foster home for a short time now and continues to blossom each day. Afton was fearful and nippy with her foster sister the first few days, but she soon learned how much fun she could have. She loves chew sticks and is learning to play with a ball. We are learning to share our toys with the other dogs. She does like to have a crate available so that she can have a quiet place to retreat.
Afton is crate trained. She appears to be house trained, and is not one to be on furniture. She is learning to walk on a leash. She does well with cats. Afton continues to work on her recall. There is no doubt that Sweet Afton would chase any car at any given chance. She must go to a home with a fence. Afton would be a good watchdog, but is working on appropriate barking. Afton is a medium drive dog. Given that she is only about 2 years old she needs to be kept busy. Left unattended she looks for things to do. Giver her a lap to sit in and she settles in nicely and sucks up all of the attention she can.
