Scooby's Story...
Scooby is a 3-year-old Chihuahua x Corgi mix who is looking for a very specific home. Scooby is very friendly with people, and loves other dogs (he lives with 5 other dogs in his foster home). However, he is looking for someone who can fulfill his medical needs. He came to us with allergies (food and environmental), which cause reoccurring ear infections. Due to this, he will need to be on oral medications, and ear drops, every time the allergies flare up. He does well with children, but we are looking for a home without children, due to his medical needs. When his ears are sore, he doesn't like anyone touching them.
Scooby seems to be fully housetrained, and is past the destructive puppy stage. He bonds quickly and loves to snuggle, but also loves his walks.
Scooby's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, current vaccinations, de-worming, microchip, leash, collar, and some food. Adoption forms can be found at www.cleoskarmacaninerescue.com .

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scooby, a Duchess Chihuahua/Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Corgi for sale in Duchess, or seeking a Chihuahua/Corgi dog from a breeder in Duchess.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Duchess already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Duchess breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Corgi breeders who help with Chihuahua/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Duchess paves the way for another one to be saved.
