My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~adoption fee applies, email caarescue@gmail.com~

My name is Stitch! And if you saw my pound picture compared with my picture today you would never in a million years recognize me and say that, that was the same dog!

I was left in a dirty, horrible and matted state. But thanks to my foster mummy and a very kind groomer I got all cleaned up and looking gorgeous!!!
It was a little rough for me at the beginning because the mats in my fur were pulling at my skin and it made me very uncomfortable and itchy. I know in my photos that I look short haired but I am not, I am a long haired doggie (ask CAA volunteers for my original picture and you will understand once you see it) so if you consider bringing me home you will have to take extra care as my fur starts to grow back, I will require weekly brushing and professional grooming every few months to keep me mat free!

I am absolutely dog and cat friendly. I live with two big doggies and get along famously of course they were very kind with me as I really needed some healing time after leaving the pound. See my family left me at the pound stating that they had no more time for me because they had two babies and it was pretty obvious to everyone who met me that they really spent absolutely no time caring for me whatsoever! I was not even house trained when I got foster mama’s home and I don’t think I had very many walks with my original family either but boy did I learn real quick that business is down outside and not inside!
Although if you bring me home and I have some accidents as I adjust from foster mummy’s schedule to your schedule please do not be mad at me, remain patient and consistent as I am a super smart boy and learn very fast only aiming to please those that I love. Just ask my foster mama she will tell you!!

I absolutely love my walks, am great on the leash and love to run like the wind! I am friendly with all people and doggies I meet in the park. A fenced in back yard will be required to make me happy because I like spending time in the yard investigating or now that the sunny warm weather is here I like to sun bath on the patio.

I am 20lbs of delicious delight with a cheery and joyous disposition! I am so loving living life large with my foster family and I am looking for very special people to call my own; while my foster mama is da bomb I know she is not mine furever and I truly believe that I am a good boy and very deserving of people to love me. My first family (and I use that term loosely and for lack of a better word) did not love me, care for me or spend any time with me.
Everything I have learned about LIFE I have learned with my foster mummy so to tell you the truth I am quite happy that they finally gave in and released me to the pound! Had they not I would not be where I am today with you reading my story wondering if we were truly meant to be!
If you are the one then my two year long journey to find you will not be for no reason and I will gladly close the chapter of that part of my life and only look towards my beautiful loving future with you

I did live with children in the home in my previous life but with CAA Rescue I remain untested

I am loving and gentle and want nothing more than to make my family and all those around me happy! But I am a sensitive man and do not require being yelled at or harsh training methods. I respond so much better to a positive style training with rewards and consistency … my heart is soft and easily bruised so please don’t yell at me. I only want to make you happy and love you; so to know you are disappointed in me is enough to make me sad and want to amend and correct my ways

I am a cocker spaniel mix so no applications to live in an apartment please. While I am a perfect and so very handsome little man I can be vocal and it won’t take too long before someone is complaining about me so I absolutely need my home with active people who want to spend time with me. Maybe even go to obedience or agility classes together

When I am left alone I will cry for you while you are gone – this is normal as my soft heart attaches very quickly to people I love

Please email CAARescue@gmail.com if you would like to meet me, they will ask you to complete an adoption application and then make arrangements for us to meet with my foster mummy (who will gush about me nonstop during the visit) to see if we really always were meant to be together
