Gadget's Story...
My name is Gadget and I am a six year old yellow male Lab. My foster family says I am one hunk of gorgeous yellow! I just need to trim down a bit from 110 pounds to 80 pounds. I just had a mass removed on my right side, but I haven't even one time tried to lick or bite my sutures. My foster mom says it's because I'm too busy trying to find an extra morsel of food off the countertops, so you probably need to keep those clear for awhile! The good news is, I have discovered I love getting carrots or green beans as a snack! Who knew healthy food could be so delicious? If I eat those and my diet food, I'll be sure to be svelte quite soon!

My foster dad says someone who loves Velcro should adopt me, as I am stuck to my foster mom at all times. I am a loyal guy! I get along fine with the other three home Labs here, but if I get too nosy with the older one, she just growls at me and I walk away. I am a smart guy. I just love to be loved. I love to go on walks and sit so pretty to get my leash put on me. I'm completely potty trained and go on command when we go outside---every single time!! If you want the love of your life in a yellow Lab, I am the guy for you!!

If you are interested in this dog, please fill out an application at www.DLRRphoenix.org. Someone will call to schedule a home visit so you can become an approved adopter. Also, visit our wonderful Facebook page at www.facebook/desertlab. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gadget, a Phoenix Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
