Ernest Hemingway was celebrated in life as a great writer, lover, sportsman and adventurer. What is less well known is that he was also a renowned cat lover. His cats were polydactyl (have extra toes) and were named after famous movie stars.
Perhaps not a fan of Hemingway, Betty’s previous owner thought it was a good idea to declaw her. That did a number on her polydactyl paws. Betty requires a soft litter, an adopter with an even softer heart, and the patience to help her overcome her shy ways.These extra digits aren’t opposable, so don’t worry! Betty won’t start opening jars of catnip at 3am.
Once she gets to know you, Betty is a friendly and affectionate kitty who loves to chase laser pens and catnip toys. She’s curious and loves to be petted – and kitty head-butts are her specialty!
