Shasta's Story...
Shasta came to CRCS in February this year with a litter of 5 adorable puppies. A wonderful mother, Shasta just recently sent all her babies off to new homes of their own. She has been spayed and is getting lots of one on one time with our staff and volunteers as she starts to get back into action, going for walks, car rides, hikes and errands. Shasta likes other playful dogs and loves the company of her people. This little lady is incredibly sweet. She is a snuggler for sure and ready for adoption! With her gentle, loving personality we know it won't be long!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shasta, a Washoe Valley Border Collie/Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Washoe Valley, or seeking a Border Collie/Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Washoe Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washoe Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washoe Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washoe Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
