My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We received an email from a shelter in Susanville, CA : “He was dumped at the shelter door this morning by his owner. Left in a collapsible camping crate that was falling in on him and all of his belongings were set beside that, including his wheelchair. Once I got him hooked into his chair he was off and exploring and having a great time. He loves attention and seems not to mind cats or other dogs. He’s going to need a special home, but he really deserves it. Just look at his adorable face”

Being left behind is unfortunate for him… in the short term. We are grateful to these folks they had the sense to leave him in the kind hands of shelter staff before he comes to the loving arms of rescue.

One of our fabulous fosters in Bakersfield stepped up to take our little Tater Tot into her loving care, but the first obstacle was to get him there. The drive is over 6 hours one way. Well, that is when our amazing volunteers came in. We posted his plight on our Facebook page and a team assembled to help him along his freedom ride. Vanessa drove from Cottonwood to Susanville to spring him from the shelter. Then she left her home in Cottonwood to drive him to Lodi, CA where Joan awaited to take him to Merced. Then he accompanied Scott down the valley to Bakersfield. A day that began at 4:00 am with an arrival time at 8:30 pm.

Tater is in desperate need of a new cart. The one that he has been sporting around in does not fit him properly and cannot be corrected. We are seeking donations to help get Tater a new set of wheels. The cost is between $300-$500 The little munchkin needs a dental and a neuter as well.
~ If you would like to donate to Taters care and his new set of wheels, we appreciate your support to help every pug in need of that second and final chance at life and love.
