Hi!!! My name is Rosie. I used to have a home with people that I thought loved me, but they left with the people who take care of me now when I was about 8. I don't know why they abandoned me, I'm a very sweet, sweet lady. Maybe it was because I'm starting to have a few health issues as I get a little older. My humans at the shelter have made sure to keep me healthy though, and I'm pretty low maintenance now.Snuggling with my humans is my favorite thing, and I get really excited about getting attention. I would love to spend all day with my head in your lap, laying on the couch watching TV with you. If you have a slow paced life and want the best snuggle buddy ever you should come see me.

About Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic and Ranch

About Our Shelter...

The Humane Society of Greater Jupiter/Tequesta d/b/a Furry Friends was founded in 1985 and was the second humane organization in the state of Florida to open a low-cost spay / neuter hospital. With between 7-10 million animals a year being killed in our nation’s shelters, Furry Friend's mission first and foremost has always been to reduce the over population of unwanted pets in our community. We do not believe that euthanasia is the answer to dealing with the pet over population crisis. Our charitable hospital offers low-cost spay / neuter services. We have sterilized over 75,000 animals over the past 24 years, preventing hundreds of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born and thousands more from being needlessly destroyed.

A few years after establishing the charitable hospital, Furry Friends opened one of the only true no-kill shelters in South Florida. The shelter reserves it’s space for animals who have been abused, neglected, injured and abandoned. We are a charity surviving on donations alone, and our capacity is limited. For the welfare of the resident animals, we cannot exceed our capacity. Cages are not vacated by routine euthanasia. They become available only through adoption.
