"Krystal"'s Story...
female, DMH, 1-2 years
photograph compliments of K Pearlman Photography

I’m Krystal- a young fluffy female tabby. When I first came to the Shelter, my fur was so matted it looked like I had laid in the mud and I was extremely thin. Since I have arrived, I have really enjoyed being brushed and my fur has improved. Because my fur is fine, I am very easy to groom. I am a very lovable girl who loves being held and carried-especially if you talk to me or rub your face on my head. I have been great with other cats but have been a little bit timid around the older cats. I am young and should really enjoy playing but so far, they just haven’t found the perfect toy. Once I am in a home of my own and feel more secure, I’m sure I will enjoy playing again. I am not at all picky about my food (crunchy or canned)-I just appreciate having regular meals and treats. If you can give me a permanent, indoor home, please consider me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

"Krystal", a Fredericksburg Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Fredericksburg, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Fredericksburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fredericksburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fredericksburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fredericksburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
