Hello! My name is Reggie. I was already a well refined middle age guy when I found my way to the nice people at my shelter. I've been here for a few years now, so I'm definitely starting to feel my age. That doesn't stop me from enjoying life though. I love the way the grass feels so when my people take me on walks I always roll around like it's going out of style. I also really love food and treats so my people have a lot of fun doing training with me. I have to say it's pretty fun for me too. As much as I enjoy my life here, I would really love to have my own family again. If you have a slow paced house without too many kids or too much activity I think we would do great together. I can be very affectionate but I've had a rough life and my joints are starting to hurt, so if you try to pick me up it's pretty scary and painful for me. That's why I would do best in a home where you would be OK with me seeking out attention from you rather than a bunch of rowdy kids trying to play with me all the time. If that sounds like your house, please talk to the people who take care of me because I sure would like to meet you!!!

About Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic and Ranch

About Our Shelter...

Furry Friends formerly Safe Harbor was founded in 1985 and was the second humane organization in the state of Florida to open a low-cost spay / neuter hospital. With between 7-10 million animals a year being killed in our nation’s shelters, Furry Friend's mission first and foremost has always been to reduce the over population of unwanted pets in our community. We do not believe that euthanasia is the answer to dealing with the pet over population crisis. Our charitable hospital offers low-cost spay / neuter services. We have sterilized over 75,000 animals over the past 24 years, preventing hundreds of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born and thousands more from being needlessly destroyed.

A few years after establishing the charitable hospital, Furry Friends opened one of the only true no-kill shelters in South Florida. The shelter reserves it’s space for animals who have been abused, neglected, injured and abandoned. We are a charity surviving on donations alone, and our capacity is limited. For the welfare of the resident animals, we cannot exceed our capacity. Cages are not vacated by routine euthanasia. They become available only through adoption.
