Hi there!! My name is Serenity. I'm a very sweet girl and I love everyone here that takes care of me. My favorite thing is going for a long walk in tall grass, rolling around on the ground when I find an interesting smell, and then flopping down in my persons lap for a few minutes. As sweet as I am I've been here for a long time. I came here when I was two because a man who was not very nice brought me to the front of the shelter, tied me to a light pole, and left me there, scared, alone, and confused. The nice people at the shelter have taken very good care of me ever since. They were understanding and patient since I was so afraid when I first came here, and now I'm a very well behaved, sweet, obedient girl who loves everyone. I don't get along so well with other animals, but I have so much love to give that you won't need any other furry family members anyway :) If you think I sound like the lady for you, I would love to meet you and I know that my people would be so happy to see me find a loving, happy home.

About Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic and Ranch

About Our Shelter...

The Humane Society of Greater Jupiter/Tequesta d/b/a Furry Friends was founded in 1985 and was the second humane organization in the state of Florida to open a low-cost spay / neuter hospital. With between 7-10 million animals a year being killed in our nation’s shelters, Furry Friend's mission first and foremost has always been to reduce the over population of unwanted pets in our community. We do not believe that euthanasia is the answer to dealing with the pet over population crisis. Our charitable hospital offers low-cost spay / neuter services. We have sterilized over 75,000 animals over the past 24 years, preventing hundreds of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born and thousands more from being needlessly destroyed.

A few years after establishing the charitable hospital, Furry Friends opened one of the only true no-kill shelters in South Florida. The shelter reserves it’s space for animals who have been abused, neglected, injured and abandoned. We are a charity surviving on donations alone, and our capacity is limited. For the welfare of the resident animals, we cannot exceed our capacity. Cages are not vacated by routine euthanasia. They become available only through adoption.
