Nilla's Story...
Nilla, a female Chihuahua mix with an estimated DOB of 3/2009, is timid and shy. Currently in a foster home with several other dogs, she is not afraid of the other Chihuahuas, but the larger dogs (larger than her 12 pounds) send her under the covers. It will take a while for Nilla to feel secure in any home, so until that happens she may be a flight risk should she get loose. Her foster mom describes her as 'cat-like' meaning she will cuddle, but she needs to initiate getting close and any sudden movement or attempt to pull her toward you may send her scurrying away. All of this timidity will probably dissolve once she is comfortable, secure, and most importantly loved. Nilla's ideal home will probably have no children, and she can be the only dog. She is housebroken.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nilla, a Parkville Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Parkville, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Parkville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parkville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parkville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parkville paves the way for another one to be saved.
