Goldie's Story...
Goldi's story is sad but all too common: this beautiful 10 year old Golden Retriever mix was returned to the shelter after several years in a home because of a new baby. Goldi is very calm, although you would never guess that she is actually 10 years old! She is on the small side for a Golden, she only weighs 35 pounds. She will tolerate other dogs but is not going to instigate or engage in play. She would be fine as an only dog. Goldi wants to be close to her people; next to them on the couch, walking with them, or just hanging out. With Goldi's age and experience, she is looking for an 'adults only' home. Goldi proves what everyone knows already, Goldens are fantastic pets and companions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Goldie, a Parkville Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Parkville, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Parkville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parkville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parkville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parkville paves the way for another one to be saved.
