My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*************COURTESY POSTING-THESE WONDERFUL CATS ARE NOT AT OUR SHELTER. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON BELOW TO ADOPT THEM. ******************************************************************************************************* Wabi (MEDIUM HAIRED TORTOISESHELL FEMALE)and Sabi (SHORT HAIRED BLACK MALE) were found on our family farm in Bethany the week of 9/11. My dad had died from a heart attack the week before and we were up there checking on the property before the funeral. We came across four kittens in our shed. They were cold and unresponsive. We assumed they were dead, but I picked each one up and rubbed them (just like in 101 Dalmations!). As it turned out, two of them took a breath and we knew we were going to nurse them as best we could. My husband allowed me to keep the kittens because I think he felt sorry for me, since my dad had just died. > I dearly loved the process and challenge of raising these two kittens. We eventually named them Wabi and Sabi after the Japenese term meaning 'imperfect beauty'. Wabi has a broken tail that happened probably when she was born. Imperfect, but beautiful just the same! > We've had these cats for 12 years now. Sadly, the marriage didn't work out and my mother was kind enough to take them in. Now my mother can not keep them; we each have new partners that are allergic to cats and there is no one else who is willing or able to take on this responsibility. I do not want to have them put down, even though they are older. They are wonderful pets, and just love to cuddle with each other. Wabi loves all kinds of love, Sabi is less sociable, but is a great cat too (sadly, he isn't a good jumper, so he takes life cautiously). Both cats have been fixed and they are declawed as well. > > Tenley Hansen > 816-695-8090 tenley@kc.rr.com
