Derby's Story...
So you're looking for an older, laid back, easy to get along with and easy to care for dog . . . one who will give you unlimited love and affection and about whom you can feel really good because you've given him a permanent and loving home . . . then here is Derby! Derby is an older (estimated 8 years) male Labrador Retriever mix. He is living in a foster home with several other dogs; and he's getting along great. Because of his age and possible continuing medical care for allergies, FOPAS is offering a permanent foster arrangement; you provide the home and the love and FOPAS covers expenses. What a wonderful solution to a sad story.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Derby, a Parkville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Parkville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Parkville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parkville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parkville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parkville paves the way for another one to be saved.
