Sawyer...our FIV guy with the saddest tale. Found in the road with a broken leg. His leg has taken a long time to heal....since December, and he went through 3 different cast changes and multiple xrays in the process....but we are happy to report that he is just about out of the woods. So happy now and friendly and just wants a family to give him a chance.
The feline immunodeficiency virus or FIV is a very common infectious disease. Cats with FIV can live normal lives the same as any other cat. It is only spread via blood to other cats and can not be spread to humans or dogs. We recommend that Sawyer be an only cat or he can be buddied up with other cats who also have FIV. ICARe has other friendly FIV positive cats if you are looking for a pair. This would be a great way to really save some lives!
