Dixie's Story...
Meet Dixie! She is a sweet and sassy 2 year old girl looking for her loving forever home. Dixie does this adorably weird thing where she makes growling noises and shows her teeth when she is being pet and gets a little overstimulated. It doesn't seem to be born out of a place of aggression since she doesn't lash out but instead seems to be a unique method of communication. She is a little wary of new people but is very sweet once she warms up to you and has a sprightly energy. Dixie came with two other dogs but can get jealous when another dog is getting attention instead of her. Due to this, she can live with only the most mellow of male dogs that will let her rule the roost. Dixie can likely live with a confident cat that will hold its ground with her. Given Dixie's quirks, she needs an experienced, adult only home that will be able to read and respect her signals. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind cutie and think Dixie might be the one for you, please come to the front desk to fill out an adoption application to meet her today.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Bellingham Pomeranian/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pomeranian/Chihuahua for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Pomeranian/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pomeranian/Chihuahua breeders who help with Pomeranian/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
