My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JULIE is a 2 year old neutered black female Lab who weighs 48 pounds. Julie and Kelsey are a bonded pair of sisters. They were given up by their owners as they lived in a rural area with no containment and the neighbors kept complaining when the dogs ran loose . They are very sweet girls that look to each other for confidence as they are a little shy with new situations and people. However, they warm up quickly and have lots of love to give! Julie is a nice girl that is learning to walk on leash and getting better every day. She and Kelsey are keeping their run clean at the vet and are respectful of bedding. We hope to get them into a foster soon as the noise of the other dogs barking at the vet scares them at times. Julie has nice manners and rides well. She is good with other dogs. No cat history but does not pay the cats much attention at the vet and will actually run from Cassie the vet kitty who is very social to the dogs. Lived with children previously and approved for kids 8+.

Update (5/8): Julie & Kelsey are a beautiful and fun bonded pair of labs! They will bring joy to some very lucky family! Kelsey is definitely the extreme people lover of the two. She loves to rest her head on my shoulder while standing on my lap and give me kisses. Kelsey is a bit more dependent on Julie as well and will whine if she can't see her. Julie isn't shy of people, but is a bit more independent and just does her own thing. She happily accepts affection from me, but doesn't actively seek it out like Kelsey does. The girls sleep together in the guest room and are totally quiet all night! So far they're 100% house trained too as we had no accidents! They went in the crate for a treat this morning without hesitation. I think as they continue to get more comfortable with their foster, their personalities are going to shine.

Update (5/6): Kelsey and Julie had a great first night! Kelsey was a little unsure at first meeting the pack (four resident labs), so we went extra slow and everyone has become fast friends now. The girls chased after a few tennis balls - they like to watch them bounce and then pounce on them. Stuffed and squeaky toys seem to be a hit as well. They weren't afraid of the crazy thunderstorms yesterday, and happily ran between raindrops when the thunder and lightning stopped. They are definitely dependent on each other. They appear to be house trained and are crate trained as well! They are truly sweet girls who are going to make somebody very happy!
