My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stevie is an 11 year-old, 12-lb terrier mix who was rescued from the Baldwin
Park shelter where he had been impounded as a stray.

When he was first brought to his Forgotten Dog foster, he continually walked
around the house and into the yard, shuffling like a little possum, with his
back slightly arched and his head down, in a world of his own. He only
stopped and dropped onto his bed when he was exhausted. There was a concern
that he was suffering from dementia.

Stevie was taken to the vet who diagnosed a painful back. He was given a
shot of muscle relaxant, and a laser treatment, and sent home with
medication. In the intervening weeks, Stevie has returned for rechecks, and
several more laser treatments.

He is now doing so well that he trots around the yard, sometimes running in
happy circles. He is beginning to mingle with the other dogs, and is
interested in what is going on in the house, particularly in the kitchen...
he has a healthy appetite.

Stevie most likely spent his life ignored in a back yard. He is not
demanding, and is grateful and happy as he discovers how really good life
can be.
