Are you interested in a very sweet and loving dog that has the biggest heart? Murphy is a gentle giant and a goof ball. Calm and mellow in the house, he really likes to be with people. But when he thinks you are going to take him on a walk he gets all excited and is ready to go and explore. He loves his daily walks. He is good with other dogs and likes to play, and would do well with another dog or without as he also loves people.
Murphy is full of love and gentleness. We do not have history with him living with kids or cats.
Murphy is 9 years young and still has a lot of curiosity in him and a lot of play and energy. He is a fast learner and quickly learned how to work the electronic dog door in his foster home. He lets himself out if his foster mom is too busy to get up and open the door for him and has not had any accidents in the house. He walks well on a leash and does not pull. He very much wants to please you and just be with you. He loves to lay by me when I am working on the computer during the day and just be with his people.
He is on thyroid medication for hypothyroidism, which is simple and inexpensive, just two pills a day.
Murphy knows basic commands and even though he is excited at meal time, he will sit and stay until I till him "ok" even when the food bowl is on the ground right in front of him. In summary, this guy is a very loving dog that wants to please you. He adjusts quickly to new routines, listens when you call him and runs back, and responds very well when you say no. He is a gem and a really sweet dog. He will be a wonderful addition to any house and will quickly become a loved and valued family member.
