My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I am Amelia. I haven’t yet learned how to fly a plane like Amelia Earhart, but I have already learned everything a beagle needs to know. I’m 11 years old so I’ve had time to experience the world, though I am still energetic enough that you just might want to get me those flying lessons and see what I can do! I promise you wouldn’t have to buy me a plane because when I wag my tail (which is constantly) it spins in a circle like a propeller. I just might take off!

As a young lady I was adopted from a shelter by a really great couple. I always had a home and a happy life before I came to MW BREW. Unfortunately, my mom and dad had to move into a nursing home, and they said it was best if I got a new home too so I could go on walks and play and do a lot of the things they were having a hard time doing for me. So MW BREW and my foster mom stepped in to help me take off on my next flight to adventure!

I’m house broken and I love to be outside. I love just sniffing around my foster mom’s yard and taking naps in the sunshine. I also love my crate. I go in with no problem and am happy to snuggle in my blankets even when my foster mom is home and the crate door is wide open.

My mom and dad lived in an apartment so I am really quiet. They also had to take me for walks every day so I am great on leash. I don’t get on the furniture, but I love to walk over to my foster mom while she’s watching TV for some lovin’! I am always wagging my tail and I give sweet, gentle kisses in return.

I don’t make a peep around dinner time, but I definitely love food. I do this really cute dance when I hear the food being scooped, and I walk backwards to my feeding spot so I don’t have to take my eyes off the bowl! (I am a beagle after all).

I am currently living with a foster brother. I get along just fine with him although he doesn’t play much. I do like to play! I would be fine living with another dog, but I’d also be okay as your only dog. I don’t currently live with children and I can get a little skittish around them, so older and gentle kids may be better for me.

Every now and then I have seizures, but not the big scary kind. I’ve never needed to take any medication for them and once they are over I am just fine. I don’t even need to see a doctor for them, unless, of course, they suddenly got worse.

I feel very lucky that I spent many great years with my mom and dad. They taught me how great people who rescue and adopt dogs can be. I know what family is all about and I’m ready to be a part of yours! Please contact MW BREW to make me the next addition to your family.
