My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello to all,
My name is Ricky. I am a small 25lbs Beagle boy around 3 to 4 years of age. My “old life” was not a good story. I lived in Ohio, outside in cages my entire life and was part of a back yard breeder.
Bless MW BREW for rescuing me along with many others in my same situation. I am very shy and scared of humans because of my past. I love other dogs and do like the cat we have here at my foster home. I have learned so many things since my rescue and am now enjoying living a good life.
In my forever home, I will need a few things, one being another dog that can continue to be my guide. I follow my foster siblings around and they have shown me so much about living in a real home. I have great food and plenty of it. I am not food aggressive at all, but do know now my meals will come on a regular basis. I did not know what these “treats” were all about. My foster siblings get so excited at treat time. I got my first treat and just kicked it around not knowing what to do with it. Now, when it is treat time I come and wait my turn. I take my treat so nicely and go to my own corner and enjoy it like the others do.
They also have shown me where to go and do “my business”. They have a doggie door here and I know foster mom was amazed I picked that up on that the first day. I have had a few accidents, but still working on it. We all go out and do “our business” together and we then all do the “happy potty dance”. Ok, they do look a bit weird doing it, but I think I am catching on.
They have also shown me how to just run and play and chase each other in the back yard. I am digging that. I like these toys they have around as well. Most of them share well, except for the selfish female. She tells me when she wants her toy back and I just back off. She can be a bit bossy.
I travel pretty well in the car. I do like to roam and sniff because car rides are new for me.
Foster mom was very surprised as to my house manners for not being in a home before. After I figured out these loud things around here (dishwasher, TV) don't hurt me. I just ignore them. Although I am a Beagle and have done some of that garbage picking. I have also been caught wanting to chew on a few cords. Not a good thing there.
As I mentioned earlier, I really do need someone with patience. It may take me a while to trust humans. I have come a long way, but truly have a way to go. I want to be by my foster parents. I follow them around. I want to know you are with me, but still not feeling comfortable with the whole touchy feely thing yet.
I am a happy guy. My tails wags so much when I first get up in the morning and see everyone. I am just excited to start another new day of learning about the good life.
Foster mom keeps taking pictures of me. She says I am just so adorable. Sometime I wish she would lose the camera thing. She is also obsessed with my one spotted ear. Again a bit weird but I just deal with it.
If I sound like the family member you have been looking for. Contact MW BREW. Foster mom could go on and on about me. Ask her anything. She just wants me to find you: The BEST home for my development and tons of patience and LOVE.
Sincerely, Ricky
