My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nora is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag. Once she gets a sudsy bath and grooming...she'll absolutely be one of the cutest girls around. At 9 - 12 months old and about 7 lbs, once comfortable in her surroundings, Nora is every bit the puppy...fun and active....but at the same time she is a well-behaved girl who wants to give the best of herself. She expresses herself with her adorable wagging tail and enthusiasm for life.
At this early point in Nora's life, she is searching for the committed family she has never before found. However, Nora has a positive attitude as if she knows a great new forever home is waiting around the corner. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Nora to a family who expresses their devotion for her in many different ways.
Nora's New Mexico foster had the following to say about this very sweet girl:

Nora is a very beautiful Maltese mix (her photo in no way does this sweet girl justice). She is timid at first, as she has never before been loved or treated with respect. When I first met her, she had been tossed around from home to home. This was certainly not her fault..she's so sweet and kind that she's one of the best! Nora was a victim of circumstance up to the time we met. I knew that I wanted to nurture and cuddle her until she was ready for a new home in Colorado. Nora only deserves the best in her life. This beautiful little girl was 1 year old on April 9th. She is definitely warming up to me more each day but still gets a bit scared when I try to pick her up (I completely understand that that will turn around in a short time..she's just so lovable that I just want to hug and kiss her constantly). I have had Nora for about 2 weeks and she is already a different dog! She just needs love and time to adjust. She's a sweet and happy girl!

We'd like Nora to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog she is capable of being. Right now, Nora is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved pup around. We'd like Nora to find her place with dog-crazy and committed retirees who are open to a relationship with a fuzzy lapdog. A loving and gentle family with older children (10+ would be great) would also be just right for Nora. She is so portable at 7 lbs that she can easily be a constant companion - Nora would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (she's a great window-shopping friend) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Nora is young enough that she can be introduced to new situations...and if there is patience and gentle guidance...she can succeed. At the end of the day...for Nora, there is nothing better than a welcoming lap. She'll snuggle up and show all the love that's inside of her. She's also a great foot-warmer for times when her favorite people are on the computer.
We've requested that Nora be spayed prior to her arrival in Boulder. We're not entirely sure that that will occur. If not, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Nora's spaying and microchip at our Denver vet upon her arrival in Colorado.
Nora is a non-shedding pup (and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic of breed mixes). She will therefore require periodic grooming along with great nutrition to keep her coat cottony-soft and matt-free.
Nora will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 5/2/15. If interested in this sweet girl who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
