Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Avery is a precious 4 month female old terrier/dachshund mix. To say that she is super wiggly and submissive would be an understatement, she's definitely on the shy side, but she's also incredibly sweet, smart and playful! Being that she was part of a feral pack brought into animal control, she will definitely need lots of positive people socialization for her first 2 years. We have gone out to coffee at Jittery Joe's and walked through Pet Supplies Plus, taking treats from strangers. She's catching on quickly that humans are awesome and that with us come food, treats, toys, and soft things.
Miss Avery's favorite thing to do is roll around is something soft. Whether it be a soft blanket, tall, grass or a plush dog bed, she has definitely gotten a taste of the good life since joining her foster family. She's doing pretty well with potty training, most of her slip ups are because she is so busy doing something else outside rather than use the bathroom that she forgets she had to go. Since we've caught on to the fact that our potty breaks weren't actually being used to go potty, she has been doing quite well with potty training. Crate training has gone very well, each night getting a little better than the first. She does like to softly sing some in the beginning, which can break anyone's heart, but if you let her self soothe, she'll relax quite nicely for the night. She gets more and more confident being around the other dogs in the house. She LOVES them and is always so excited to see them, and has started enjoying playing with them some.
We are still getting to know her and are working on all our basic obedience commands as well. As we learn more about her personality we will update her bio, but right now we think she would do well in a variety of homes.
