April 27, 2015 Update:

Rocco is new to our rescue. We learned about Rocco when he made the news due to being spooked and jumping off a bridge, falling two stories and breaking his front two feet in March. The media helped to reach out to the public to find his owners but sadly they were never found. He spent the past 6 weeks recovering and is now ready to start looking for his forever home.

Rocco is approximately 5 years old and gets along with dogs. His foster home will be testing him with cats. He does get a little nervous when a stranger approaches but so far, Rocco has not met a person he does not like. Rocco loves to cuddle and must touch you while he is sleeping. He is highly food motivated, house trained and knows some basic commands like sit, shake and down.

Rocco's medical prognosis is very good. The breaks in his legs were minor. He did experience hyperextension in his wrist and will need to be watched closely and not allowed to do a lot of jumping. He is a super easy going boy and eager to please.

We hope that Rocco can attend the PetSmart Adoption Weekend event May 16th & 17th at the Des Moines southside PetSmart.
