Donald's Story...
Hi there! I'm Donald! I was rescued from a high volume, open access shelter after I was turned in as a stray! I am a three-legged Bichon Frise. It is unknown how I lost my leg, but it appears it was quite some time ago! I get around just fine with three legs! I run around very fast and can do stairs with ease! I am very playful and enjoy chasing my foster canine siblings around the yard. My foster mom brags to everyone that I'd be perfect in a home with young children! Right now I live with a two year old and one year old and am so very gentle! If you have room in your heart for a happy, go lucky sweet older gentleman, then I'm perfect for you :)

If interested in adopting Donald, please complete an application at www.seniordoghaven.org under the Adoption Process tab. If you have any questions, please email info@seniordoghaven.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Donald, a Wilmington Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
