My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Gracie is a happy little dog that will love you to pieces. She is a mix of toy poodle and Chihuahua and she has a soft coat that she loves having brushed gently. Gracie is about 8 years old and weighs 8 pounds. She lost her home due to the terminal illness of her longtime owner. However, she adjusted quickly to her foster parents and is easy going and fun to have around. Gracie has lived her entire life with someone home and would really do best with someone home most of the time. She likes males and females and really loves sitting near you or on your lap. She is fully housetrained. Gracie loves her stuffed toys and chasing balls and running in the yard and barking to alert you of someone at the door. She enjoys car rides and walks well on a leash. She does not like thunder storms and will hide under a bed until the noise stops. Gracie would be fine with older children. She tolerates other small dogs, but she would be fine as an only dog as she was for much of her life. Gracie has been well loved all her life, so she is an easy dog to adopt. Gracie is with Happy Hound Rescue, a 501c3 all volunteer rescue and is in a foster home. She came to rescue with no current vetting and required a spay, full dental, heartworm test and pills, all shots, worming and she does have a microchip. .Gracie adoption fee is $350 plus sales tax which barely covers her full veterinary care.
