My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Baron! Baron was rescued form a high kill shelter in New Mexico and he is oozing with gratitude for this! Hugs and kisses are a must for Baron to give out daily!

Baron is the perfect canine companion -- ready to do anything. Baron loves every person and every animal he meets. He also loves kids, but does get a little too jumpy and kissy with smaller kids. He is also good with cats, but is sad that his foster cat siblings will not play with him. Baron would like to be adopted in a loving house with other canine siblings for him to play with.

Baron starts his day with excitement for everything. Just waking up in a house with a loving family is exciting for him. Baron will make an excellent hiking, running, jogging, snowshoeing partner...he is ready to do anything! Baron does great riding in cars. He loves water and the snow. Baron has shown no desire to herd. Baron has shown few signs of typical border collie OCD's. Fears nothing.

Have we mentioned how smart Baron is? In the first week in his foster home, he mastered sit, lay down, stay and shake. Baron does get too excited to stay at times, but he's learned that he must wait to be released before eating. With a little more training to control his excitability, Baron would make an excellent therapy dog. Baron is a little chewy so a good supply of rawhides is needed. As with many border collies, it's a good idea to ensure he has plenty of daily activity.
