Josie is 11 weeks old. Not only is she adorable, she is very smart. She learned steps and the doggy door in one day! I have been watching Josie this past week closely. I have suspected she is deaf, but not sure. I took her to the vet today and she just confirmed what I already knew. Little Josie is deaf. She is very smart and responsive, so I don't see a problem training her with hand signals. However, she can not hear a thing. Basically this means if you let her outside without a leash she could not hear you call her back, couldn't hear a car coming towards her, or any other danger she might encounter that she actually can not see. She is however very observant! She would have to be on a leash or at least in a fence at all times for her own protection. Adoption fee $90.
