My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cashmere is a 1 year old neutered male Maltese/poodle type mix. He was found as a stray here in the City of Fairfax. He is a super happy, friendly, and playful little guy. He loves everybody, loves to cuddle, and loves belly rubs. Cashmere does however suffer from what is known as little white dog shaker syndrome. This is a condition most commonly found in small white dog breeds such as Maltese and West Highland terriers. This syndrome causes tremors in the dog's head, trunk and limbs. The cause is unknown. Cashmere has been responding well to steroids and is currently only exhibiting very few and very mild tremors. It is not certain yet whether he will need to remain on steroids his whole life or if he can eventually be weaned off of them. Dogs affected by this syndrome remain otherwise healthy and alert with normal muscle strength. Cashmere's personality and attitude do not seem at all affected by his condition. Cashmere is current on his vaccinations and has tested negative for heartworms. He is truly a sweetheart little boy!!
