My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Jazmin and I am a wee little one. I’m 8 years old and a miniature Shih Tzu. I’m a wee one because I weigh just under 10 pounds. But I am soooo sweet! I have a sad story to tell. See, I got away from my owners – I left my owners yard and I was missing for a while. Animal Control in a really small town in Southern, IL found me and they contacted my owner but they thought I was dead. GASP! How sad would that be?!? But I wasn’t and sadly they didn’t want me so they left me there. That’s okay because the nice people at that shelter contacted these Angels, let’s call them IAR Volunteers and they rescued me. I am now in this really nice foster home. They gave me a haircut called a grooming because you couldn’t see my pretty face and they are feeding me. Boy, I like food. But I’m not food aggressive – in fact I don’t make any noise except when I have to go outside to do my business. I am a lady, you know? I bark when I have to go outside because I am house trained. I’ve met other dogs – big and small and I like them. I am not scared of them or get mean. I’ve also met some children. I met this little girl that I liked to play with. She let me sit on her lap & she rubbed my belly – I really, really liked that. I just like to hang out on a dog bed or sit on your lap. I really like laps! I would like to have my own home someday and my foster Mom thinks my next home should have a really, really secure yard so that I don’t get out again. I don’t think I want to do that if I have a nice comfy bed and a lap to sit on. So how about you call my foster Mom and we schedule that Meet & Greet? You can meet me and I can meet your lap. Kisses, Jazmin.

Jazmin is located in her foster home in Lindenhurst.
