Watson's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.

Watson's Story...
These gorgeous eyes belong to Watson, a handsome purebred tricoloured Australian Shepherd born in November 2010 in need of a new home. Despite his family's best efforts, Watson had difficulty adjusting to their new 2-legged addition to the family, who is now 13 months old, so he needs a home without small children. Watson is at an ideal weight of 71 pounds and has always been very well taken care of. Although not registered, Watson was purchased from a responsible breeder and, unlike some Aussies, he sports a beautiful full tail. Watson's ideal home will have knowledge of the breed and lots of time to spend with him. He is well trained, intelligent, enjoys learning new things, and loves playing frisbee! Watson is crate-trained, and is used to staying home while his family goes to work. A cat-free home would be best, and he would be fine as either an only dog or in a home with a compatible canine. If you are familiar with the traits of Australian Shepherds and have been searching for an adult one to adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Watson, a Rigaud Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Rigaud, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Rigaud.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rigaud already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rigaud breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rigaud paves the way for another one to be saved.
