Cody's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Cody's Story...
This cute fellow came to NVSR from a homeless person who couldn't keep him any longer after 12 years together. Cody is a cheerful, happy guy who walks right up to every person he meets, expecting that they'll like him, too. He has a few old-age complaints, and we'll have our vet check him over and clean his teeth. He seems to have arthritis, so we'll do all we can to ease that for him so he can enjoy his walks and explorations in his foster yard.

Cody is ... 15 inches tall, about 30 pounds, and 13 years old. His adoption fee is $100. BEFORE YOU ASK ABOUT CODY, PLEASE READ "HOW TO ADOPT" ON OUR WEBSITE: www.nvsr.org. It will answer your questions about our process and expectations. Please note that we do not want to place Cody outside Virginia or the edges of the surrounding states.

Cody, a Charlottesville Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Charlottesville, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Charlottesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charlottesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charlottesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charlottesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
