Meet Skittles. You won't find a cuter & more lovable tripod West of the Mississippi!

Skittles came to LA Animal Services with a broken right rear femur and she quickly became a staff AND volunteer favorite. After sitting in the shelter for six weeks, the shelter vet amputated her leg as they didn't have the resources to repair it and after sitting for six weeks with no medical attention, the orthopedic surgeon agreed the leg could not be saved. As soon as we heard that Skittles' leg was amputated, we rushed to the shelter to scoop her up - a shelter is no place for this endearing lady especially considering the traumatic surgery she underwent.

Since being a #wudla foster, Skittles has blossomed into an amazing little gal. Weighing a slight 5 lbs, she's recovered well is getting along on three legs just fine. Skittles' favorite activities include sunbathing, spooning, sleeping under the covers, and gnawing on deer antlers. Skittles gets along well with other dogs and cats. Skittles would love to find a Forever Home that will cherish her as much as she will adore them.

*Please note, because of her Skittles' XXS size, we will only consider adult only homes as applicants. However, we have plenty of kid-approved pups available!
