Opie's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Opie's Story...
This handsome little red head is named Opie after another little red-headed boy. Opie is about 3 years old and weighs 18 pounds. He is super sweet and friendly and loves people. He is standing on his hind legs in one of the pictures so he could get closer to the photographer. Opie gets along very well with other dogs and enjoys going on his daily walks. He also likes to play with his ball and a frisbee. Opie really likes attention from his human and loves to cuddle and get a good belly rub. He would probably do equally as well being the only dog as he would in a home with another dog. He just wants to be loved.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Opie, a Dallas Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pomeranian for sale in Dallas, or seeking a Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pomeranian breeders who help with Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
