My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You will always have a lucky star That shines because of what you are Even in the deepest dark Because your aim is true And if I could only have one wish
Darling, then it would be this Love and happiness for you - Emmylou Harris 'Love And Happiness'

And if ever a deserving baby girl there was, it's little Emmy. No puppy should ever be seen as something disposable and thrown into shelter life because they are a product of 'accidental' breeding. Our Emmy is priceless in our eyes and in our hearts and how could we refuse such an adorable face like that? Emmy is a 4 month old black and tan shepherd lab mix weighing 23lbs. She will likely be around 50 lbs when full grown. Emmy's foster mom describes her as being very intelligent, eager to please and on the submissive side. We also heard she can play possum. Apparently an older and wiser feline bopped Emmy on the face. Her reaction? Fall over and don't move! Foster mom says she was still limp when she went to pick her up (you have to admit...that's pretty funny). We think it's safe to say she is fine with cats. Emmy is also very good with little kids. Foster mom says she actually self corrects if she starts jumping up, almost like she realizes she's playing too hard, and she stops. She has had the opportunity to interact with other dogs of all sizes and ages and did great! Emmy walks very well on leash and is very comfortable in a harness as well. She is crate trained and doing very well with house training. She has only had one accident but is also taken outside for frequent potty breaks and play time. Emmy does alert to strange or out of the ordinary noises but is not obnoxious about it. She is simply protecting her humans as any good puppy would (unless it is a cat). Our precious girl is already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and current on all preventatives. This pups aim is true with a heart of gold to match. Our wish for Emmy is a home full of forever love and happiness. Could you be her lucky star that shines bright for the rest of her life?
